Adverbs of frequency (trạng từ chỉ tần suất) là một trong những điểm ngữ pháp nhỏ trong hệ thống ngữ pháp tiếng Anh. 1. Định nghĩa và Các loại trạng từ chỉ tần suất tiếng Anh

Định nghĩa: Trạng từ chỉ tần suất là một loại trạng từ trong tiếng Anh. Loại trạng từ này được sử dụng khi bạn muốn nói về mức độ thường xuyên của một hành động nào đó. Bạn có thể bắt gặp nhiều trạng từ chỉ tần suất trong thì hiện tại đơn để diễn tả các hành động mang tính lặp đi lặp lại.

2. Các trường hợp sử dụng trạng từ chỉ tần suất

– Dùng để diễn tả mức độ thường xuyên của hàng động

Ex

John is always on time. (John luôn đúng giờ.)

He seldom works hard. (Anh ấy ít khi làm việc chăm chỉ.)

– Trạng từ chỉ tần suất được dùng để trả lời câu hỏi với: “How often?” (Có…thường?).

Ex

We sometimes go to the beach.(Thỉnh thoảng chúng tôi đi biển.)

We hardly ever see you at home. (Hầu như không khi nào chúng tôi thấy anh ở nhà.)

3. Vị trí của trạng từ chỉ tần suất

– Đứng trước động từ tobe

Ex:

He is always modest about his achievements. (Anh ta luôn khiêm tốn về những thành tựu của mình).

– Đứng trước động từ thường:

Ex:

I continually have to remind him of his family. (Tôi phải liên tục nhắc anh ta nhớ đến gia đình.)

– Đứng giữa trợ động từ và động từ chính

Ex:

I have never been abroad. (Tôi chưa bao giờ ra nước ngoài.)

You should always check your oil before starting. (Bạn luôn luôn nên kiểm tra dầu nhớt trước khi khởi hành.)

– Đứng ở đầu khi muốn nhấn mạnh

Ex:

Usually the teacher gives us an assignment. (Thầy giáo thường ra bài tập cho chúng tôi.)
