I guess this happens because our brain subconsciously erases everything that is likely to bring negative emotions and experiences making room for more positive feelings which accompany actions and events people look forward to. Or there can be even a simpler explanation for this… people just block information about what they don’t want to do and, as a result, at some point naturally forget it.
