Having some money set aside gives people peace of mind together with freedom to make choices in their life separate from earning a pay cheque. It also lets them gain flexibility to take better spending choices. And, of course, having an emergency fund for covering unexpected expenses makes their life less stressed, which, to my mind, is surely liked by everyone.
