Before the COVID-19 pandemic started, I visited Dubai Miracle Garden, the world’s largest natural flower park, for the first time in my life. I’ve never been someone who really loves flowers, so I went there just because I wanted to make the most of my trip to the UAE and visit as many popular places as possible. And I have never regretted going there. It is indeed a miracle garden.

I had a good couple of hours wandering around the numerous decorations. There were millions of flowers arranged in colorful arches and patterns. For example, the heart’s passage was totally gorgeous as was the flower-covered full-size aircraft. Also, there was a huge floral clock made of real plants and flowers. There were giant cats, Disney characters, a flower castle. All of them were totally covered with flowers. You feel like you are in some kind of a fairyland.

I took pictures of flowers and floral displays until | totally ran out of storage space on my phone. Then Ijust explored the park gasping in amazement every other minute. It’s impressive how much work was put in it. If I had to choose one word to describe this amazing place, it would be ‘magical’. It was the first and only time I saw so many colourful flowers. I saw the colours I never knew existed. It was truly a feast for the eyes.

When I came home, I was so impressed that I set a picture taken there as the home screen on my phone. So every time I unlock my device, I fondly recall my first (and only) visit to this beautiful place full of colour.

Well, nowadays there’s so much noise around that sometimes silence is a luxury I can no longer afford. So time and again I go to some quiet places out of town not to forget what ‘silence’ is. Recently I found a nice clearing in a coniferous forest which is just a 20-minute drive from the city. This was a magical place where quietness was almost tangible.

I walked there, enjoying the air, the scents, and the vegetation. I usually move slowly, calmly, and mindfully. The older I become, the more I appreciate each opportunity to take the time to walk or sit and enjoy silence, especially when I feel that I’m on the verge of burnout. It was still warm, so I spread down a small carpet, sat under a pine tree, turned off all my gadgets and spent a few hours reading a book.

This was by far the best place where I could take a break from a constant stream of noises to reboot my brain and unwind. Also, it was there that I finally managed to rid my mind of negative and unnecessary thoughts, slow down, catch a deep breath, set my mind straight, think about my life and focus on what I really wanted. So next time when I start feeling stressed and exhausted, l’ll definitely go there again to recharge my batteries.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic started, I visited X for the first time in my life and fell in love with the place.

X is a huge and bustling city, the capital of X. It’s so large that if you view the city from a tall building, you get the feeling that it doesn’t end. X is divided into two parts: the old town and the modern city.

I’m a keen walker so I explored both of them on foot. And I really liked them both. For example, while walking around its historic part, I leisurely explored historically significant architecture, peaceful green spaces, and unique local attractions along the way. Sometimes I just walked around the city having no destination in mind. While I was walking in the modern part of the city, when I looked up, I felt like I was at the bottom of a deep, man-made canyon. It’s really impressive, especially if you come from a small town, like me. I also visited the observation deck, which was a bit pricy, but really worth visiting. So I walked, tried local food, visited famous attractions, and even did some shopping. The city is sometimes called ‘a shopper’s paradise, so I didn’t want to miss the chance to go to several shopping malls and see for myself.

I liked X as I was overwhelmed by its size and beauty. I think it’s a magical place. I mean it really did feel like I was jumping from antiquity into modern times. Also, I can’t help saying again that, to my mind, it’s the most walkable city of all. You can literally walk for days and still have something new to see. There are countless routes that can be taken in different parts of the city. So, in my opinion, it’s a wonderful place for tourists. And I’d really like to visit it again.
